At TRIBE Krakow Old Town, glass from the factories in Kraków and Krosno serves not only a decorative function – it creates atmosphere. Its simplicity, clarity, and the way it reflects light evoke the imagery of Edward Hopper. Just like in his paintings, here too, light and space invite you to pause, find calm, and reflect.
Across our public areas, shelves transform into curated galleries, presenting the finest examples of Polish art glass – masterpieces of form, colour and craftsmanship from the renowned Kraków Glassworks, once a prestigious branch of the Warsaw Glass Institute. These works, designed by celebrated artists Jerzy Słuczan-Orkusz, Zofia Pasek and Barbara Świstacka, embody the golden age of 1970s Polish design, their vivid reds, deep greens, rich navy tones, luminous blues and pristine whites elevating vases, bowls and pitchers into icons of modern art. Complementing this heritage are exquisite pieces from Krosno and a thoughtfully selected library of art and design volumes, reflecting both Polish creativity and the vision of leading global artists – all perfectly attuned to the bold, intelligent design DNA of Tribe.
On the lower ground floor, our Asian restaurant offers a parallel journey through culture and aesthetics. Here, guests can admire vintage Polish glass harmoniously paired with fine Chinese porcelain – both antique originals and contemporary creations inspired by centuries-old traditions. The display extends to Japanese-inspired works on paper by Polish artist Mat Kubaj, whose mastery of Japanese ink painting resonates with an authentic Far Eastern spirit. Modern, sculptural glass pieces seamlessly integrate with this setting, harmonising with the restaurant’s sophisticated Asian aesthetic to create an atmosphere of artistry, cultural dialogue and timeless style.
